[Hui Ling]

Good morning to everyone. My name is Hui Ling and I am from CY1 cell group. I am honoured to stand here to testify of God’s goodness and mercy in my life.

I got married in 1998 to my beloved husband, Edwin. After 2 years of marriage I was pregnant with my first child.  It was definitely a great joy for a 1st time expectant mother. However, after 2 months of pregnancy,my 2 gynecologists brought the news that something was wrong and my baby was not growing normally. The baby had a very weak heartbeat, heart and head were filled with fluid. One of the gyne even recommended to abort the child as the child might die in the womb anytime without my knowledge. I was extremely devastated, cried a lot and asked God why.

[Yam Lai Meng]

Good morning church.  I am Yam Lai Meng from Cell ED1. This morning I stand here to testify of God’s goodness and healing upon my life.

I was diagnosed with benign brain tumor in March 2006. God used my sister to ask me to go for a medical check-up on my brain when I was having headache during CNY in 2005. At first, I ignored her advice as I do not have headache often. The following CNY when she asked me again, I decided to go to QE Hospital for a check-up to stop her from nagging. The brain surgeon sent me for a CT scan.

Good morning brothers and sisters, my name is Chew Wooi Ling, from Cell EE5. I came to know God and accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord 9 years ago in GCC. I did not attend Equipping Stations even though I have become a Christian. I thought it was not important and furthermore, my Sunday lunch time will be affected by it. However, my cell leader persistently encouraged me and would even accompany me to the class.  Thank God for a godly leader.

Love Letter

[ Sunday Testimony Sharing ]

[Deacon Michael & Mary]

Deacon Michael

Good Morning everyone, I am Deacon Michael from Cell CC1. This is my lovely wife, Mary. In the early days, having a pen pal was a way to have a boy-girl relationship. We got to know one another through writing letters. There were no hand phones or computers in the 70’s. Mary was studying in Beaufort while I was staying in KK. Once a week, we would receive a letter from each other. In that 3 years of our love story, we got engaged and were married in 1978. As a husband, I took the responsibility to take care of my wife, working from morning till late at night. We were living a simple but happy life.

Christian Should Strive to Live Transformed Life

KOTA KINABALU: Christians should strive to live the transformed life empowered by the Spirit to give meaning to the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. “Live a true Christian life instead living just in Christian name,” Dr William Vun, senior pastor of the Glory Christian Centre (GCC) here, told his congregation during Easter Sunday service.

He told the 1,500-member gathering to reflect on the significance of Easter and align their lives’ purpose to that of God. “Be renewed like those believers on whom Jesus poured down his Spirit after he ascended to heaven,” he said in a stirring message in conjunction with Easter celebrated by Christians worldwide. “With a transformed mind through biblical principles, we will understand and see things differently and have a new beginning in our lives.” During the week, more than 50 new friends made that decision to have a new beginning.

Do Good. Volunteer.

Anyone can be a do-gooder. All it takes to help someone in need is the willingness to lend a hand. The tough part is getting started: where to go and who to help. The ‘Do Good. Volunteer.’ campaign is an initiative by the Star, in partnership with Leaderonomics, to help Malaysians do just that. It seeks to raise awareness of and connect readers with worthy causes that need volunteers.
