Glory Christian Centre’s Children’s Christmas Party Sees Over 2,000 Kids

KOTA KINABALU: In the days approaching Christmas, the church of Glory Christian Centre (GCC) felt the rise in excitement as they prepared for the annual Children’s Christmas Party which aimed to gather the children of the city to celebrate Christmas together.

 

The result was the filling of the house with more than 2,000 children and 1,000 adults who were shown to remember “When Love Was Born”, the theme of this church’s 2011 Christmas.

A Day of Fun at Family Carnival

About 4,000 people visited the Family Carnival Day organized by a church, Glory Christian Centre (GCC), in Kota Kinabalu on November 7 as 63 people bled for a good cause.

 

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Blood Bank collected blood from donors as crowds thronged the numerous game stalls, food stalls, service counters and children’s fun corner set up within the church’s premises at Damai in conjunction with the piblic holiday marking Hari Raya Haji. The six-hour carnival which started at 10am, was aimed at strengthening members’ relations, meeting new friends as well as giving opportunities for caring Malaysians to give free-will donations to the needy in the city.

Church Conducts Medical Camp in Pensiangan

KOTA KINABALU: More than 400 rural villagers in faraway Pensiangan district in interior Sabah benefited from a medical camp organised by the Glory Christian Centre (GCC) on August 20-21.

 

The camp, conducted by 15 volunteers of GCC from here, also included educational activities aside from health talks and oral cancer screening. It was organized as a joint project with the Sabah Health Department.

Christmas Cheers At Hospitals, Welfare Homes

KOTA KINABALU: Smiles, joy and hope were brought to about 700 people in hospitals and welfare homes around Kota Kinabalu Through a series of visits by Glory Christian Centre, an independent church in the city.

 

In conjunction with the Christmas season and in line with the church’s Christmas theme ‘I Have A Dream’, members of its Community Care and Senior Citizen ministries visited six institutions so far in December.

 

They began with a Christmas party with residents of the Sri Prichard old folks’ home at Kinarut on Dec 2, followed by a visit at the Likas Hospital (Dec 5), Hospital Mesra (Dec 9), Renewal Life Centre and Care Haven Orphanage (Dec 10) and Beaufort Hospital (Dec 16).

Medical Camp Benefits 400 Villagers

KOTA KINABALU: The Community Care team from Glory Christian Centre (GCC), Kota Kinabalu with one heart for hearts participated in a medical camp at Kampung Salung in Pensiangan. Over 400 patients received care and treatment from the staff from the Health Department and friends from Sabah Agape and Grace Chapel (Kingfisher). Two cases were referred to the Keningau Hospital for further management.

 

There were also health talks and presentation of goodies like toothbrush and paste, food, toiletries and educational activities to children. The GCC Community Care works with both government and non-governmental organizations to serve the local community regularly. Centre Carries Out Community Project

KOTA KINABALU: The Glory Christian Centre (GCC) Kota Kinabalu organised the ‘Channel of Blessings’ community care project on August 1 at its premises to collect usuable and consumable items. Members and friends enthusiastically contributed to the good cause. All the collected items were transported to Pitas, Kota Marudu and Kudat in four vehicles to be donated to the need villagers.

Health Day for Senior Citizen

KOTA KINABALU: The Clory Christian Centre Community Care Centre put together their hearts and hands together to organise a Health Day for senior citizens. About 100 of them attended the one-stop health check for blood pressure, blood glucose, vision, bone scan, body mass index, denture care, osteoporosis talk, medical consultation and nutritious goodies. 

The GCC Senior Citizens meet every Saturday from 2:30pm to 4pm at their premises at Damai, off Taman Seputeh, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu.

KOTA KINABALU: About 300 people here benefited from a health talk jointly organized by Glory Christian Centre (GCC), Kota Kinabalu and Parkwayhealth, Singapore at Promenade Hotel on Sunday. The event was part of GCC Community Care’s effort in creating wider health awareness in the city. Parkwayhealth is a major hospital owner/operator and health service provider in Singapore.
